Ten days playing golf in Sicily

Upon arrival in Sicily, you’ll be met by a chauffeur, who’ll drive you to your resort on the slopes of the tallest, active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna. After check in and time to relax (depending on arrival time) you will have a complimentary welcome drink/briefing and meet your fellow travelers and tour director. In the evening a welcome dinner all together at the resort.

After breakfast we’ll move to the Picciolo Golf Club and spend the morning there on one of the most interesting golf grounds in the world. At the end of the 18 holes, we’ll have a light lunch at the ClubHouse.

Afterwards, we’ll reach the charming town of Taormina, where  a guided tour of the still active Greek-Roman theater and a stroll on the enchanting main avenuenis waiting for us. Dinner in a local restaurant and transfer back to the resort.

In alternative to the visit in Taormina, you can fly over  mount Etna and the hill town by helicopter (max 5 pax and quotation on request).

After breakfast, we will head to Siracusa, once one of the most powerful ancient Greek cities of the whole Mediterranean area, and we’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the archaeological area of Siracusa and of Ortigia (the old city center of Siracusa). It will lead us through centuries of art and traditions, from the Greeks, with the ruins of Apollo’s temple, to the crafter and the Jewish districts, which testify the past of great integration with Sicily and the Sicilians.

After lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll transfer to Donnafugata Resort and after check-in, we’ll relax with an included massage at the SPA. Dinner will be at the resort in the evening.

After breakfast, we will start with our golf activities. After a light lunch at the Club House, we’ll drive to Ragusa Ibla and enjoy a guided tour of the town and its Baroque marvels, part of the Val di Noto UNESCO site. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy dinner at Il Duomo (Ciccio Sultano Chef) a 2 stars Michelin restaurant. Accommodation: Donnafugata Golf Resort&SPA (suite).

After breakfast, we’ll drive to Piazza Armerina, in order to have a guided tour of the amazing Villa Romana del Casale (UNESCO site), where excavations have revealed the finest example of roman mosaics of the entire world. After lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll get back to our resort.

In the afternoon we’ll play golf. Dinner at the resort in the evening. Please note: during springtime and according to the theatre schedule we will attend a show by the charming Donnafugata Theatre.

After breakfast, we’ll visit the amazing Valley of the Temples (UNESCO), in Agrigento, one of the largest archaeological sites of the world. After the guided tour and lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll reach a private house, where we will have the unique chance to admire a private collection of colourful Sicilian carts, an icon of Sicilian handicraft.

Afterwards, we’ll transfer to our resort, and after check-in we will enjoy a massage at the inner SPA. We’ll dine at the resort.

After breakfast, we’ll move to Segesta an area that was populated by the ancient Elymians, one of Sicily’s indigenous populations. Their city, located on Mount Barbaro, boasts an unfinished and perfectly preserved Doric temple, which was built when the people acquired Greek habits.

After a guided tour of the site, we’ll move to the charming, medieval town of Erice. We’ll discover the village by ourselves and have lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we’ll transfer to Palermo, Sicily’s main city. Check-in and dinner in a local restaurant.

After breakfast, we’ll have a guided tour of the historical city centre of Palermo and the Monreale hill town, both part of the newest Sicilian UNESCO site, Palermo Arabo-Normanna and we will do that on board of the iconic FIAT 500, a small vintage car. After the guided tour, we’ll have lunch in a local restaurant and in the afternoon, you will have time to relax or make your own discoveries and prepare yourselves for the farewell dinner in a local restaurant.

Transfer to Palermo airport and return to cities of origin.
